🐷 Meet Walter – The Heart & Soul of the Sanctuary 🐷

Walter’s story is one of resilience, love, and a whole lot of belly rubs! Found wandering the streets of Miami, Florida, Walter was just a small, nearly one-year-old piglet when he was picked up by Miami Animal Care and Control.

Sadly, his past is all too common—he was likely purchased as a “Micro Pig” with promises that he would stay small. But as Walter grew into the beautiful, full-sized pig he was meant to be, he was dumped near a canal and left to fend for himself. 💔 Thankfully, animal control was able to capture and rescue him before he was harmed.

When we first saw his adorable, handsome face in photos, we knew right away—Walter belonged at The Sanctuary at Dunn Farms. He became our very first farm rescue, and from the moment he arrived, he stole our hearts and made the sanctuary feel like home.

Now, Walter is everyone’s favorite (and he knows it!). He is incredibly affectionate, playful, and smart. Much like a puppy, Walter will flop onto his side at your feet, waiting for the one thing he loves most—belly rubs! 🐽💖 And if you think you’ll get away with stopping after a few minutes, think again! He will gently nudge you for more until your hands are completely numb.

Walter is more than just a pig—he’s the heart and soul of the sanctuary, a reminder that every animal deserves a second chance, and a perfect example of why we do what we do.
